Teaching prefixes, suffixes and roots can be fun! Fun?!?! Yes, they can!! They used to be the worst part of teaching for me, until I came up with a routine that I was able to stick with and my students looked forward to.
The Word Work Interactive Notebook for Prefixes and Suffixes started it all, you can learn more about that here. Then, along came the Month by Month Word Study from Prefixes, Suffixes, and Roots. You can learn about that here.
Now, I want to introduce to you the Word Work Assessments that were created to assess students’ knowledge of word parts and their meaning of the words used in Month by Month Word Study from Prefixes, Suffixes, and Roots and/or The Word Work Interactive Notebook for Prefixes and Suffixes.
