What do you have planned for the first day back to school after the new year? I always have these grand plans of jumping right back into curriculum, but students are so excited to talk about what they did over Christmas and New Year’s that it doesn’t always work out exactly like I have planned.
After years of teaching, I now show up on the first day back ahead of the game with these Talking About the New Year cooperative learning activities. Students are “allowed” to talk about what they did, get it out of their system, and then we can move on.
