The journey is about to begin! It’s new, it’s different, it’s going to challenge me, and I’m so ready! With that said, watch out third grade, here I come!
This will be my 14th year teaching. I have no idea how that is even possible! I spent 11 of these years teaching 4th and 5th grade, one year in 6th, and the past two years I taught our district’s Title I Math for 3rd-5th grade.
While I loved the Title I position and was so very thankful for the opportunity to do so, I missed the classroom tremendously! There were so many things that I missed and many people thought I was a bit crazy! I love teaching math, it was my favorite subject in school, but I missed teaching language arts. I missed having to teach all subjects. I missed, yes this is true, all the parent interaction. I missed having all my kids all day long and calling them my kids. I’m crazy excited to teach this new grade that I haven’t taught and to get back into the feel of things!
So, things here at Teaching With Simplicity won’t change much. You will see a lot more 3rd grade resources being shared and ideas being thrown out. I have hopes is to broaden resources and ideas beyond the math classroom. While learning new things myself through trial and error, research, and input from others I hope to pass them on to you!
I’m so excited for this new journey! I truly haven’t been this excited about starting the new school year in a long time!!
